In 1979 I found a book on homeopathy in a NYC bookstore entitled, Homeopathy: Medicine of the new man by George Vithoulkas. I bought and read it and decided that this is what I wanted to do with my life.
I had no doctor so I located an elderly MD homeopathic physician near my parent’s home in NJ. His office was in his home. After going to see him several times for a skin problem and not receiving any relief he leaned across the desk, handed me a book on homeopathic treatment and said, Maybe you can figure this out. I can’t.
I never returned to him but did learn a big lesson about humility and that no one can help everyone.
When I contacted the National Center for Homeopathy in 1979 and asked how I could become a homeopathic doctor they responded that I needed either an MD or a DO degree from a recognized US medical school. This was the first I ever heard of the DO ( osteopathic) degree.
My homeopathic doctor advised me along with several others to become a DO since it would give me a lot more hands-on training than if I went the MD route. So I went the DO route.
After finishing my residency training, I began to study homeopathy in ernest. First I trained for seven years with Paul Herscu, ND, a well know New England homeopath. Then I went through a multi-year rigorous training with Andre Saine, ND which resulted in my passing the certifying exams of the Canadian Academy of Homeopathy.
I am a classical homeopath and prescribe one remedy at a time. The remedy is chosen based on an interview, patient exam and subsequent energetic testing which I have developed over the last 20+ years. This testing lets me know whether the homeopathic medication is acceptable to the patient’s system.
Several years ago I came across the work of Prafull Vijayakar, an Indian homeopathic doctor. He has revolutionized homeopathy by making it mathematical so that exact results can be predicted. For this reason, he calls it Predictive Homeopathy. I have taken several courses taught by his students and him in the USA. The American Institute of Homeopathy, the oldest medical organization in the USA ( yes, three years older than the AMA), has been so taken by the work of Dr. Vijayakar that we have arranged for him and his faculty to come here over one year and offer six long weekend trainings ending in 2015. I am a participant and am very busy applying this approach to my patient care. So far, the results far surpass those I was previously getting using homeopathy.
Homeopathy is a system of medicine which was up until recently only taught to physicians. It was developed in the late 18th century by Samuel Christian Hahnemann, MD, a German physician. He discovered a substance that could cause symptoms in the regular dose would cure these same symptoms in highly diluted form.
Therefore, there are no unwanted side effects with these medications. They are safe for children and very sick people. I find that homeopathy is probably the very best way of treating infectious diseases I have ever found.
I use it for all sorts of conditions from the everyday reasons people come to a doctor to very complicated cases. Over the past 20+ years, I have successfully treated thousands of people with homeopathy.
