Why osteopathy can help.

If you think this is weird just wait 100 years and find out what they think of what we call medicine today.

Osteopathy, as I understand and practice it, works directly with the patient who has a problem.

Most physicians focus on problems or symptoms. The dominant model of medicine is to find what is wrong with the patient and treat those symptoms. Symptomatic treatment sees the patient as a problem and works exclusively with that.

I do not see you as a problem. I see you as a living, breathing, self-correcting system which exists on physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels which, truly, are One system.

By working directly with your body I am able to understand why it made the problem and how to help it change so that you feel a lot better.

Everything that follows is built on this approach which is 180 degrees opposite to what passes for medicine.

Many speak of holistic medicine but few practice it. Even many supposedly holistic doctors are actually treating symptoms but using non-drug therapy. This is not holistic medicine. This is the practice of symptom treatment using holistic means.

When you come here you will be treated differently.

You will be examined and treated only according to what your system, on all possible levels, tells me in real time is going on.

This is the promise of osteopathy.

It is the reason I practice this way.

And as thousands of patients who have built my practice for me attest, it works.

It is the way I am treated by my physician and the way I treat my patients.

It is the application of basic ( anatomy, physiology and other sciences) and clinical science to help  patients achieve healing.

I believe that this is what a real physician should be doing.
